Girlie Grunge Kitchen Wall by Donna Salazar
Hello my peeps! Today I'm sharing what started as a frustrating story but ended up being pretty darn awesome!
I had finished painting a couple walls in Hunter's room and thought... "I'll just paint a couple walls in the kitchen". A chair had scraped some paint off the wall in one spot so I thought it would be easy peasy. This wall happened to have a large decal on it and when I pulled it off... 3 layers of paint came off with it!!! So I started pulling at the paint and it was coming off in HUGE sheets (see below).

I decided to make lemonade from these lemons. I scraped all the paint off that I could, sanded down the walls and did a grey wash over the whole wall. This is a close up of the end result.

I then took my 12x12 reusable Gel Press plate and some TCW stencils and went to town! I sanded over some of the prints to make it look very girlie grunge and finished with the large damask stenciled straight onto the wall.

The stencils I used were: Rosetta, Daisy Chain, (both styles in the large and small sizes), and Brocade.

I then added my clock and some prints that the kids bought for me and now I'm super happy with the way that it looks!

I hope you enjoyed my little story!
Thanks for stopping by! Smooches ~D~
