Donna Salazar's Word Of The Year 2017
Hello my peeps! I just thought I'd share my word of the year for 2017. I started doing this several years ago. It is a practice that was started by Ali Edwards. She says this about it:
"A single word can be a powerful thing. It can be the ripple in the pond that changes everything. It can be sharp and biting or rich and soft and slow. In 2006 I began a tradition of choosing one word for myself each January – a word to focus on, meditate on, and reflect upon as I go about my daily life."
You can read more on her "One Little Word" post. By the way... I'm not affiliated with her and she doesn't know that I'm linking to her post... It's just good information that I wanted to share.
My words have been "Inspire", "Play", "Strength", "Renew", and "Soar". This year, my word is "Intention".
I have had some bad experiences in the craft industry and have, on more than one occasion, felt the need to just leave the industry all together; however, my love for creating pretty things and getting my hands all inky and painty has kept me from doing that. I've decided that I can't let the ridiculous decisions of other people sway me from what I love. So I soldier on. I've connected with friends in the industry that love and appreciate me and I will be focusing my time and attention on people and things that make me happy.
And since one of the things that makes me happy is cooking and using awesome tools from Pampered Chef, I'll continue to pursue that as well (contact me if you are interested in having a party). Between crafting, cooking parties and caring for my grandson, I've got a very full plate for 2017... but ever single bit of it will feed my soul and make me a Happy, Artistic, Foodie, Grandma!
Thanks for stopping by! Smooches ~D~
