Hello Tag with Handcrafted Flowers by Tracey Sabella
Hi Everyone! It's Tracey back to share a sweet tag with handcrafted flowers created with Donna's Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L Girlie Grunge Twine and her Spellbinders Jumbo Rose Steel Rule Die and Bitty Blossoms Dies. Check out my Tips and Techniques section for details and to see how I've added texture and color with more fabulous Donna Salazar Designs products!
Tips and Techiques
This twine flower is created with Donna's Girlie Grunge Twine. The center is a DODZ 3D Adhesive Dot sprinkled with Donna's Clearsnap Pralines & Cream Twinkle Dust Glitter. A video tutorial for these twine flowers can be viewed HERE.
The outer petals are voile fabric (home decor fabric) cut with Donna's Jumbo Rose die. The edges are melted and curled by pulling them near a candle flame.
The burlap leaves are cut using the Jumbo Rose Die set with Donna's Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L Texture Ribbons and colored with her Colorbox Peridot and Vintage Mix'd Media Inx.
The chipboard flourish is brushed with white gesso, then with a glaze I mixed up with Donna's Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L Girlie Grunge Art Medium thinned with water and Gold Pigment Powder. I was going for a grungy look, so didn't worry if I got complete coverage.
These sweet flowers are created from Donna's Bitty Blossoms dies using the middle and small sizes. I brushed the centers generously with Donna's Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L Girlie Grunge Art Medium and poured in some Prills. Around the cluster I brushed on more Art Medium to add Art Stones and Mini Art Stone for texture.
Donna's Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L 3D Foam Swirls are great on any girlie grunge project. Here I lightly sprinkled on some Jasmine Mix'd Media Inx Embossing Powder, heat set, then rubbed Pralines & Cream Twinkle Dust Glitter into the remaining adhesive. Then to add a bit more color, I rubbed with Donna's Scrapbook Adhesive by 3L Gold Pigment Powder.
I layered the foam swirl with a die cut flourish that I brushed with a glaze of Blue and Gold Pigment Powders.
The manila tag and paper layer are embossed and debossed with Donna's Spellbinders Splattered Circles Embossing Folder, then brushed with a Pigment Powder glaze to add shimmer and to highlight the texture. I also added watercolor to the manila tag for an extra pop of color.
This butterfly was painted with white gesso, then a glaze of Gold, Blue, and Wine Pigment Powders.
One final view.
I hope you've been inspired to pull out your Donna Salazar supplies
to create a girlie grunge tag of your own.
