Hello my peeps! You may have noticed that the blog has a new look. Well... that is because after MUCH deliberation, soul searching, and conversations with my husband, I've decided to make a big change. One of the things that has prompted this change was when I was contacted by Elena Olinevich who told me that she has to take an indefinite leave of absence due to a death in her family. I adore this gal and her work is gorgeous but there are some things in life that are more important than creating projects for a blog. So with Elena gone that left just me and Tracey Sabella. I feel silly calling one person plus myself a team. I had a long talk with Tracey (who has been so loyal and dependable over the years, not to mention an amazing artist) and I told her everything that I've been thinking over, the good the bad and the ugly. She agrees that at this point there really is just one direction for me to go.
And what is this new direction? My website and blog will now be 100% me. And not just crafty me, but everything me. My artwork, my cooking (if you haven't heard I'm now selling Pampered Chef), and all the cool stuff that I do with my grandson who has Autism. The new blog will be at the same address but with a new header: "The Artistic Foodie Grandma".
I've enjoyed my time in the scrapbook industry and still love and will continue posting about cardmaking, painting, scrapbooking, home decor and mixed media. I'm just going to post about those crafty projects as well as my Pampered Chef adventures and recipes, AND throw in some stories about my grandson, Hunter, too! So basically, this will become a regular blog. I've never been one to want to follow rules and the structure of posting about specific things on specific days at specific times will be going away... (except for 1 time a month when I have to post for Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L®). I may publish a blog post at 11:00 AM, or 2:00 PM or 7:00 PM... You neeeeever know.... LOL! This will suit my A.D.D. personality much better and I have a feeling that I'll be posting A LOT MORE by doing things this way.
Just in case you're wondering about the product that I've designed for various companies... I'll still continue to use the product that is made and even teach classes with some of it but I won't be pursuing any new licensing deals with anyone. I'll use my current product but I'll also use other people's products and tools and help them promote their stuff as well... because helping other people succeed makes me happy.
The most noticeable change is that you won't be seeing posts from my talented friends on this blog on a regular basis. They may be guest bloggers here and there but for the most part it will be a one woman show. I hope that you will all enjoy this new direction I'm going in and will like getting a peek into my whole life, not just the crafty parts. And please... leave comments! I love reading what everyone has to say and I will comment back!
