Hello Friends, I like doing projects for kids and about kids. There is going to be a first year celebration of one little cute boy, so I made a shaker card for Him.
I have never tried to make shaker cards; however, I made this one with Donna's Spellbinders Cascading Stars Die. I guess you need to give it a try.
I cut several of the Cascading Stars then adhered them together. It depends how thick your cardstock is, but the finished look needs to be quite thick as you will need to fill in the shapes with the sequins, glitter or whatever you like.
After I adhered all the layers of die cuts, I left the last one, and heat embossed it with Donna's ColorBox Mix'd Media Inx Embossing Powder in 2 tones. Then I adhered the acetate sheet on the backside of the die cut.
I glued the thick base of die cut stars to the background of my card (that I first colored with the sprays and stamped on it randomly). Then I filled the stars and the parts between them with the sequins and glitter, then adhered the upper layer with acetate that I had heat embossed. It's best to use strong adhesive as it needs to be secure.
I also made some stars diecuts to frame the photo of the baby. I covered it with the baker twine and made a bow at one side.
Then I used the diecut stars left after I used the Cascading Stars Dies. I covered them with Donna's Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L Girly Grunge Art medium and sprinkled them thoroughly with glitter.
I think I need to create more shaker cards. I love the result.
