"Shine Through" Large Girlie Grunge Mixed Media Canvas by Donna Salazar
Hello my peeps! Today I'm sharing a new mixed media canvas that I've painted. It is extremely texture filled and was made with a LOT of Girlie Grunge Mixed Media. I love how many different uses there are for this awesome medium!!! I decoupaged book pages to the blank canvas with Girlie Grunge Art Medium diluted by half with water, adhered the texture to the canvas with full strength Art Medium, stiffened the Girlie Grunge Gauze and adhered it to the canvas for the clouds, made a glaze then also used it to glue and seal the title letters. This stuff is seriously amazing!!!
I also used my Pigment Powders is so many different ways on this canvas too! I created alcohol sprays for the background (and you can view my DIY Pigment Powder Sprays blog post to make some of your own). I used my watercolor paints A LOT (and you can view my DIY Watercolors with Pigment Powders post to make some of your own OR my new video tutorial on the Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L® blog DIY Watercolors that has new info). I also made a glaze with my Girlie Grunge Art Medium and different Pigment Powder colors as well.
I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE, the color of the sun. I made it by combining 2 parts Pink Pigment Powder with 1 part Gold Pigment Powder to create a rose gold watercolor. I then created a rose gold glaze then also added a gold glaze over the crocheted doily sun and Lace Ribbon sun rays.
