Little Moments, Big Memories

Hello everyone! Natasha here as a guest for Donna Salazar Designs. It has been quite a while since I've designed for Donna, but I am so excited to share what I have made with her amazing new products!

I started off with a plain paper mache box. I brushed gesso over the entire box to give it more of a distressed look. Then I adhered Girlie Grunge Gauze to random sections using Girlie Grunge Medium.

Once the medium dried, I spritzed some blue and gray ink all over (the messier the better). I dry brushed a thin layer of gesso to add depth to the project.

To add interest to the cover, I punched holes and set eyelets along the edge of the lid. Then I weaved Girlie Grunge twine through each hole.

And of course I needed flowers on my box! When do I NOT use flowers? LOL

I grabbed a sheet of watercolor paper and inked it using the same colors that I sprayed the box with. Then I cut Bitty Blossoms out using Donna's Spellbinders dies. I shaped each die cut into a flower and adhered the flowers to the lid using Crafty Foam Tape and Dodz XL. I love these adhesives because they allow me to raise my flowers to create a floral cluster full of depth.

Here's another shot of the lid. Can you see how the flowers are adhered in layers?

To finish off my box, I added chipboard borders and words to the side. On each chipboard piece, I rubbed Pigment Powder onto the surface. I love the shimmery, yet subtle, effect of these powders!

That's all for today! I hope you like my project. I'll be back soon with another fun creation!
